OUR FLYING SITE

We lease the property that our field is on from the landowner, who operates a small grass strip for full-size light aircraft. Due to lease agreement and FAA and AMA regulations, we are not permitted to fly over the full-scale runway. The area outlined in green is the flying field proper and contains the parking area, flight line and our strip. The area is kept neat and is mowed regularly during the summer by club members. We are permitted to fly over our field and the surrounding field (outlined in yellow), where live the airplane-eating trees and beans.

As previously stated, we can only allow club members in good standing and their guests (in accordance with the club rules) to fly at our field. Check here before coming out for the weather conditions at the field!

SAFETY NOTICES!

When you visit the field, you will notice a line of small flags placed in the ground approximately 50 feet from the full-scale runway. You MUST park your vehicle on the side of this line of flags furthest from the full-scale runway. This is necessary due to FAA regulations as well as by agreement with the landowner.

Additionally, when you approach the field, you will need to cross the full-scale runway at it's westernmost edge. Please STOP and look for full-scale aircraft which may be landing and approaching from the west, as well as those that may be taking off from the east. Also, be sure to stop and look again when leaving.
